Biggest douche in the universe contender still writing

No, not TV psychic John Edwards... I'm talking about huge douche Kevin Trudeau again. He's written another "Natural Cures" book. I guess it's time to swindle more desperate, sick people out of money again with worthless medical advice. By taking to heart his garbage suggestions and his paranoia about much of conventional medicine, some people will choose not to get the real help they need. This man should be bankrupted and his money paid out to the countless people his blatantly false medical advice has harmed over the years. Preferably he should also be in jail, but I shouldn't get my hopes that high.

Congress keeps wasting time

With unprecedented budget and trade deficits and a very costly war in Iraq among the important issues facing the United States right now, what have our Congressional leaders been busy doing this month? Well, if they're the Republican majority, their big three issues have been as follows:

1) Proposed Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. The bill failed.
2) Make the estate tax repeal permanent (Right now it's set to go down each year and be completely eliminated in 2009, then come back in 2010. So make sure your rich elders die in 2009.) This will benefit the richest 1% in America and only them. Again, the bill failed.
3) They're now proposing a Constitutional amendment giving Congress the right to ban flag burning at any time.

Honestly, what the fark? How about addressing some of the real problems we're facing, morons? I'm sick of these buffoons who are willing to flush the country down the toilet to cater to the foolish masses yelling "Oh noes! The moral fabric of our society is under attack!!!"

More global warming research

The rate of increase in the earth's temperature has gone up very sharply in recent decades. Numerous scientists have pointed out that the warming we've experienced is not consistent with natural warming and cooling of the earth. Here's a story about a few more. Stop believing the administration and corporate lobbyists who claim we just don't know about global warming. They're full of it. Maybe THEY don't know, but most scientists do. Listen to the experts, not the politicians.

Republicans shoot down minimum wage increase

Minimum wage hasn't budged from $5.15/hr since 1997. You'd think by now at least an adjustment for inflation would be appropriate. Not so, say Republicans. They voted down a minimum wage hike. All votes cast against the bill were from Republican senators. I'm unclear on why it takes 60 votes to pass the legislation. It's not a simple majority vote? But anyway, it only got 52 votes.

In case you missed the first million or so hints, if you are poor, this administration and this Congress are NOT your friends. Actually if you're middle class this administration is not your friend either, but that's not really a minimum wage issue. On the other hand, if you're really, really rich...
